International Society of Hypnosis Logo

The International Society of Hypnosis seems to be undergoing something of a resurgence, or at least a fresh spark of activity. They have instituted a number of new committees, one of which is the history committee chaired by Julie Linden. She has written an interesting description of the birth of the ISH, in the wider context of scientific investigations of hypnosis, and it's well worth a read.
